Real Madrid & Thibaut Courtois

According to Belgium paper Het Laatste Nieuws it’s happened.

The well-informed daily have reported on Tuesday that Real Madrid have made an official bid for Chelsea goalie Thibaut Courtois.

It’s been confirmed that los Blancos have offered Chelsea round 35 million pounds for Courtois.

Courtois is out of contract next summer, while the keeper wants to go to Spain to be closer to his kids.

Will Real Madrid sign Courtois? That seems to be a formality, with the main issue being who will Chelsea sign as a replacement.

Courtois & Maurizio Sarri

Het Laatste Nieuws have also dropped another interesting piece of information regarding Courtois.

Following the Community Shield, which the Blues lost 2-0 to Man City, new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri made the following statement about Courtois:

I’m not interested in the agent. I want to hear Courtois. If Courtois tomorrow says to me the same [as the agent], then I have to speak with my player, of course. Because I only want players with very high levels of motivation.

But had Sarri already spoken to Courtois when he made his statement after the Man City game?

HLN report that “Courtois had a phone call with Maurizio Sarri last week” signalling his intent to leave Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard & Chelsea

While Courtois is heading out the exit door, Eden Hazard is staying with Chelsea.

The Belgian playmaker returned to training on Monday.
